Conference Support Scheme

For Researchers

This scheme recognises that an important part of funding research is attendance and presentation of research findings at national and international conferences. Such conferences enable knowledge transfer of research methods and results, as well as local, national and international scientific collaborations. They also enable junior researchers to present and network with experienced researchers. The VNI offers a conference support supplement to all of its funded research projects. VNI funded researchers should contact their VNI project officer for applications and guidelines.

For the Neurotrauma Community

On 4 August 2009, the Victorian Neurotrauma Initiative (VNI) announced its new conference support scheme:
The VNI will offer up to ten (10) conference support awards to the community affected by neurotrauma to attend brain and spinal cord injury research conferences/forums in order to promote networking and collaboration between the neurotrauma community and researchers.

Who is eligible to apply?
- Individuals who have experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Individuals who have experienced a spinal cord injury (SCI)
- Individuals who care for people living with a TBI or SCI
- Members of advocacy organisations representing individuals with either a TBI or a SCI
