Dr Peter Harcourt

Peter Harcourt was appointed as a Director of the VNI in November 2006. A sports physician who has worked in elite sport at the Victorian Institute of Sport, AFL, Olympic and Commonwealth games, basketball and Australian cricket. He developed an interest in exploring opportunities to push sports medicine approaches to other health areas such as compensation medicine. He eventually joined the TAC and later Worksafe and headed the joint TAC and VWA Health Services Group (HSG) until July 2009. He is currently the Clinical Convenor for HSG. His direct research interests have involved tendon pathology and its management, the AFL research board and health research in the compensation environment.
