Dr Alex Collie

Alex Collie was appointed as a Director of the VNI in December 2006. Alex is a clinical neuroscientist who completed his training in Melbourne. He holds a PhD in psychology and during his time as a researcher published more than 60 journal articles, reviews and book chapters in the cognitive neurosciences. Alex was a founding scientist with Melbourne-based biotechnology company CogState Ltd where he led the development of the company's cognitive tests for mild traumatic brain injury. He spent four years consulting to the pharmaceutical industry regarding the design and use of cognitive outcome measures in central nervous system (CNS) trials. Having successfully established CogState’s European office, Alex returned to Melbourne to take up the position of Executive Director with the VNI in November 2006. His academic credentials and industry experience are coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the research funding process.
