Dr Alex Collie

Alex Collie is currently the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Safety, Compensation and Recovery Research at Monash University. Alex was previously the Director of the VNI from December 2006 to March 2009. Alex is a clinical neuroscientist who completed his training in Melbourne. He holds a PhD in psychology and during his time as a researcher published more than 60 journal articles, reviews and book chapters in the cognitive neurosciences. Alex was a founding scientist with Melbourne-based biotechnology company CogState Ltd where he led the development of the company's cognitive tests for mild traumatic brain injury. He spent four years consulting to the pharmaceutical industry regarding the design and use of cognitive outcome measures in central nervous system (CNS) trials. Having successfully established CogState’s European office. His academic credentials and industry experience are coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the research funding process.
