Lisa Pitre

Development Manager

Prior to joining the VNI in May 2008, Lisa Pitre worked in communications and outreach in government and not-for-profit sectors. Most recently she managed a 24/7 Media Monitoring and Analysis unit for Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT). She has extensive experience in organising outreach events including study tours of Canada for foreign media as well as cross-country symposia series, international seminars and workshops while at World University Service of Canada (WUSC). Lisa migrated to Australia with her family in late 2007.

Lisa holds a Masters of Arts in International Affairs (Carleton University, Ottawa) and a Bachelor of Science, First Class Honours in Psychology (McGill University, Montreal). Her second year honours research examined the efficacy of an artificial intelligence program in diagnosing brain injured patients using the DSM III guidelines.

In her role as Development Manager, she is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, partnership development, and marketing and communications. She also provides executive support to the Scientific Advisory Committee.
