VNI Strategic Goals
In order to achieve its objectives, the VNI has identified three strategic goals for the period 2007 to 2010. The VNI's operations and funding programs are being developed to achieve these goals.
Goal 1. Fund internationally competitive neurotrauma research
Provide appropriate funding to promote internationally competitive neurotrauma research and build relationships with national and international partners that will lead to:

High quality innovative research

Victoria identified as a centre of excellence for neurotrauma research -
National / international links and collaborations
Goal 2. Facilitate enhanced capacity and capability within the Victorian neurotrauma research community
Build capacity and capability by creating opportunities where gaps exist and promoting collaboration, mentorship and information sharing that will lead to:

A highly skilled research sector

Growth in research output

Increase in knowledge shared
Goal 3. Facilitate the translation of research findings within the Victorian healthcare system and amongst TAC clients
Transfer research findings into practice by funding projects with potential for translation, communicating their findings with stakeholders and developing strong links with health policy agencies so that:

Health policy agencies use VNI funded research outcomes in their decision making

Evidence-based policy / clinical change occurs

Neurotrauma community actively participates in VNI activities
